Cloud Scopes Unified Rbac
In brief
The documentation now states that updates to cloud scopes, including subscription changes, may take about 8–10 hours to appear in portal filters and scoped data views. During the refresh, results may be incomplete or empty even when the configuration was saved.
What Defender admins need to know
Administrators should allow time for refresh before troubleshooting apparently missing scoped data.
Summaries are generated from the documentation change itself.

Unified RBAC roles reference one or more scopes (or "All").
A user’s effective cloud data visibility and permitted actions are the union of all scopes tied to their assigned roles.
Scope changes (adding or removing environments)
immediatelyalter access for users relying on that scope.Least privilege: Granularity allows narrowing powerful permissions (for example, response or manage) to only the intended environments.
Planning guidance:
2. Select Scope filter.
3. Apply your desired filters.
Cloud scope updates may take time to appear in filtering
After you create or update a cloud scope, such as by adding or removing subscriptions, the change might not appear immediately in portal filters and scoped data views. In some cases, the refresh can take about 8–10 hours.
During this time, filters might return incomplete or empty results even though the cloud scope configuration was saved successfully. If this happens, wait for the refresh to finish, and then try again.
We're working to improve freshness for this experience.
